The USC Africa Student Fund is a scholarship intended to support undergraduate student travel to African countries for study, research, service-based learning and internships. Students who have identified a project or program they hope to participate with are invited to apply with this program in mind. If awarded, the Africa Student Fund scholarship will help to cover airfare costs associated with participating.

Since its inception in 2010, the USC Africa Student Fund has supported students representing various USC Schools in their travel to countries such as Senegal, Mozambique and Ethiopia.

The online application will be available in October and February of each year. Students should apply no more than 10 months prior to their departure date, and preferably within six months of leaving. One student recipient will be selected during each application period. Applicants must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA to be eligible.

The application process includes submission of an online application, two-page personal statement, and faculty recommendation letter.

Within one month of their return to the United States, student award recipients will submit a five-page reflective essay detailing the value of their experience in Africa.

The Spring 2014 Application will be available from February 3 through February 21 at midnight. Please click the link below during this time to apply.
