We hope you’ll join us for the Undergraduate Writers’ Conference on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.
To compete for cash prizes, submit your work by 11:59 PM FRIDAY, MARCH 2, 2018.
Entrants must be current undergraduate students at USC. You may enter up to four pieces in this competition (one work in each category). However, you may not submit the same work to multiple categories. Collections of poetry are considered one submission. Please fill out a separate form for each submission (up to four).
Your essay(s) and creative work will compete against other work created by USC undergraduates to win prizes of $1000 and $500 in four categories: Research, Analytical, Professional Writing/Moral Reasoning, and Creative. Additional awards are sponsored by the USC Levan Institute for Humanities and Ethics and the USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy.
To be eligible for a prize, all students must participate in a small group discussion. The group discussions are the heart of the Conference and are a lot of fun. (Exceptions can be made for those whose classes or internships/jobs meet during the panel hour.)
Group discussions are 6-7pm Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Please budget time for participation. Your performance in the academic discussion group does not influence the prize competition beyond qualifying you for a prize.
To register for this year’s Undergraduate Writers’ Conference, please complete the submission form below.
Conference Director Norah Ashe-McNalley will contact you to give group discussion assignments. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact Ashe-McNalley at any time: firstname.lastname@example.org.
