Arts & Humanities

The arts are for everyone; the humanities are for everyone. Regardless of your major, the arts and humanities will inspire you, enrich your education, and help make the world whole again. Check out our Visions and Voices programs.

Visions & Voices

Visions and Voices is the centerpiece of USC’s arts and humanities initiative. No matter what your major, your quality of life and education will be greatly enriched through participation in the arts and humanities. An exciting array of events await – we’re sure we’ll see you there!

Undergraduate Writers’ Conference

Outstanding undergraduate writers wanted! Each year, you have the opportunity to submit your original work for consideration at the Undergraduate Writers’ Conference. Compete for prizes in four categories, meet in small panel discussions, and enjoy a banquet with fellow writers. Our students have made the Writers’ Conference their own – join in!

What Matters to Me and Why

Sponsored by USC’s Dean of Religious Life, WMMW is series of informal talks by fascinating faculty and staff from our campus who discuss very personal aspects of meaning and significance in their lives. These once-monthly talks occur over lunch, which is free by the way! Come hear about what really matters.

USC Fisher Museum of Art

That’s right, your university has an accredited museum right on its campus – the Fisher Museum of Art. Stroll in and checkout the great collections of 17th, 18th, and 19th century European, British, and American pieces. Make a point of visiting contemporary exhibits of artists from Los Angeles and Latin America. Enjoy the museum, the cafe, and surrounding spaces for study, socializing, and contemplative moments. Entry is always free. Bring your friends!

KUSC

Classical music anyone? KUSC’s extraordinarily knowledgeable hosts make classical music come alive through their illuminating information on the music, the composers, the context, and the performers. KUSC is the largest public classical radio station in the country, offering classical music and arts programming to radio listeners locally and around the globe through its live stream on the Web. Tune-in or get connected – they’ll help you add a little high-culture to your iPod (if it’s not there already)!

USC Arts

USC is home to conservatory-level studies in the arts, an active performance community, and the oldest museum of fine arts in Los Angeles. Check out what’s happening in the art communities in the classroom, on campus, and in LA.
